Michelle A. Jurgens, MA, LAC
Psychotherapist

Michelle is a Licensed Associate Counselor who offers individual, family and group psychotherapy for adults and adolescents including treatment of dually diagnosed individuals (both mental health and substance use disorders). She uses a cognitive behavioral approach and recognizes the influence of family dynamics and environmental factors on the whole person. Michelle assists individuals in developing strategies for coping with anxiety, depression, and self esteem issues and creates a safe, non-judgmental environment which encourages an honest and open therapeutic relationship, leading the client to discovery, mindfulness, and wellness.

In addition to her work with Village Counseling Services, Michelle is a Primary Therapist in the Dual Diagnosis Partial Hospital and Intensive Out-Patient Treatment Programs at Princeton House, the behavioral health unit of the University Medical Center at Princeton. Michelle earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Widener University. In addition, she has earned a master’s degree in counseling from The College of New Jersey, where she graduated with distinction, earning membership in Chi Sigma Iota – Counseling, Academic, and Professional Honor Society International.
