Babette Levin, MSW, LSW
Psychotherapist

Babette is a licensed clinical social worker who specializes in helping individuals and couples cope with relationship and life transition issues, and with grief and loss. She also helps clients develop strategies to reduce suffering from anxiety, depression, and trauma. In working with these issues, Babette supplements her psychodynamic approach with appropriate cognitive behavioral treatment methods and with the practice of mindfulness. Since parenthood is one of life’s most demanding transitions, she offers a support group for mothers and fathers of twins.

Babette brings her skills as a writer and former English teacher and decades of experience as a public relations and marketing communications professional to her work in helping clients develop effective communication skills. She has specific expertise in use of therapeutic writing, such as journaling, narrative or correspondence, to cope with illness, trauma or loss, or to resolve relationship conflicts.

A graduate of Vassar College, Babette holds a master’s degree in English from New York University as well as her master’s degree in social work from Virginia Commonwealth University. Before joining Village Counseling Services, she worked at the Carrier Clinic in Belle Meade, NJ.
