Staff Biographies
Catherine Wetzell, MA, LPC
Psychotherapist
Catherine is a Licensed Professional Counselor. She received her graduate training in Mental Health Counseling and Expressive Therapy at Lesley University in Cambridge Massachusetts. For the past 7 years, she has focused specifically on the treatment of addiction and trauma related concerns. In addition, her specialty focus areas have included women’s issues, domestic abuse or violence, LGBTI concerns, eating disorders, relationship issues, loss & grief and spirituality. Her experience has taken place in settings including partial hospitalization programs, intensive outpatient clinics, inpatient addiction rehab, domestic violence centers and rape crisis centers. She is a member of the American Counseling Association, the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies, the Association for Creativity in Counseling, the Association for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Issues in Counseling, and the International Association of Addictions and Offender Counselors.
Blending conventional and alternative approaches, Catherine draws on a variety of styles and techniques to incorporate what will be most helpful for each client. She works with each client to help them build on their strengths to identify and achieve life goals. Alternatives to traditional talk therapy may include mindfulness training, visualization, journaling, inter-modal expressive therapy (art, writing, movement, and sound), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy in which she is comprehensively trained. Catherine provides a comfortable and supportive atmosphere in which clients can achieve the personal growth they’re striving for.
